Kaleo Supports

Kaleo Supports is hiring a team to provide services for a young man with Down syndrome who resides in his own home. He works, volunteers, participates in various community activities, and is dating.

Shifts will be 10 or 12-hour shifts. There will be two full-time staff, alternating weekends.

Candidates must be mature, dependable, committed, creative, and passionate. Training is provided with pay.

It is expected the Team will work together to create this best practice setting. The service is Supported Living Level 3. The idea of this type of setting goes beyond other residential options. Being a part of this will be most rewarding!

Duties:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management systems to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, nurses, and other professionals
- Create a safe and clean environment for individuals in your care
- Drive individuals to appointments or community outings as needed
- Lift and transfer individuals using proper techniques and equipment

Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to follow medication administration protocols
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members
- Compassionate and patient demeanor to provide support and encouragement
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors
